Training Evaluation

Laidlaw & Constable work to a four-point measure, loosely based around the Kirkpatrick Model.  Close liaison with the client, not to mention considerable financial and time investments are necessary the more comprehensive the level of evaluation required.

Post Course Evaluation

The vast majority of our clients are satisfied with reaction based evaluation measures.  In such scenarios we use our post-course evaluation forms (happy sheets) that delegates and trainers complete at the end of their session.  Equally, if clients have their own in-house evaluation methods, Laidlaw & Constable will happily conform.  Post course evaluation feedback assists the trainer/account manager in monitoring various key areas of performance.   Generally, the account manager would contact the client after each session to discuss the training programme and suggest modifications if necessary. 

This information is broken down into three main areas:

  • Performance set against objectives
  • The skills of the trainer
  • The quality and technical aspects of the training environment

In certain scenarios clients require higher level evaluation, usually where training programmes have either:

  • A great deal of visibility
  • Interest from management, or
  • Strong ties to the client’s strategic objectives.

We are keen to partner with clients in finding ways of measuring the effectiveness of their learning initiatives in business terms.

Management Reporting

Laidlaw & Constable clients can benefit from various reports which can be generated from our Management Training System:

  • Trainee Evaluation Feedback Analysis - A summary of our trainer(s) success in delivering interventions - displayed as a total and breakdown by trainer.  Also broken down by On and Off-site courses.
  • Delegate Evaluation Form Feedback - Essentially the raw data.  The report displays each attendee's evaluation results by date, course, level, venue and trainer.  Also provided by On and Off-site courses.
  • Popularity of Courses by Delegate Attended - Summary of courses delivered for the client and the total number of attendees.  Again, broken down to display On and Off-site courses.
  • Number of Courses Attended by Delegate Name - Displays the total number of courses a delegate has attended.  Also broken down by On and Off-site.

Our reporting tool also enables us to internally assess:

  • Our trainers' success and/or
  • Our success as a company.
