This hands-on course is suitable for users who need to gain a good working knowledge of Excel. Delegates will master the core skills required for creating and formatting a variety of worksheet data and producing budgetary/forecasted reports and charts. The skills and knowledge acquired in Microsoft Excel Foundation are sufficient to be able to use and operate the software at an efficient level.

Target Audience/Pre-Requisites

Target Audience

Excel Foundation is designed for users who are keen to extend their understanding and knowledge of the software. To fully benefit from this course, attendees are expected to be familiar with Windows and use of the mouse. Knowledge of a previous spreadsheet package would be useful, although not essential.

Pre-requisites

New or inexperienced users of Excel, those upgrading from a previous version of Excel or migration from another spreadsheet package.

• Start Microsoft Excel, navigate workbooks and worksheets, and exit correctly
• Understand the basic uses for spreadsheets
• Create, save, close and open a workbook
• Enter and edit different data types
• Select ranges of cells in a workbook
• Copy and fill data in a workbook
• Adjust the sizing of columns and rows in a workbook
• Create formulae that perform calculations in a workbook
• Use relative and absolute references in formulae
• Format cells and ranges to improve the appearance and readability of worksheets
• Apply formatting options to numbers
• Use basic functions in a workbook
• Preview and print a worksheet or range of cells
• Create simple charts (graphs)
