Microsoft Access is a relational database management system, which is able to work with data stored in Access/Jet, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or any ODBC-compliant database. Many businesses use it to create customised desktop systems which enable them to manage and manipulate their data. It can even be used to help drive web based applications. One of the benefits of Microsoft Access is its compatibility with SQL where queries may be viewed and edited as SQL statements and used directly in Macros and VBA Modules.
Our database developers/architects use Microsoft Access to develop the majority of our clients' software applications. In fact, once you have attended and completed our Access Creating Databases course you should be able to use it to build a simple application of you own.
If you have just started using Microsoft Access and/or never worked with a relational database system you're probably going to be slightly confused as to how best to progress with the application. You may want some helpful tips on good database design or require advanced training in Microsoft Access programming. Whatever your requirement, one of the courses from our Microsoft Access Training portfolio will be suitable for your needs.
We offer Microsoft Access Training courses for all versions ranging from Microsoft Access 97 through to Microsoft Access 2007. Our Microsoft Access Training courses start at the basic Queries & Reports course for those requiring the skills necessary to confidently interrogate an existing database. Following on from this we have the Microsoft Access - Creating Databases session which helps develop the skills necessary to create simple databases. Our Access Power User course further enhances the developer's skills whilst the Microsoft Access VBA session is geared towards those interested in the application's programming functionality.
Microsoft Access Training - Queries and Reports
If your job entails working with large amounts of data which can be cumbersome to analyse you will find our Microsoft Access - Queries and Reports the course for you. The course assumes you have no previous knowledge of Access and demonstrates how to create queries which help you manipulate and analyse data (whether held in Excel, Access or some other format). This Microsoft Training Course also covers the basics of database design, tables, forms and reports.
Microsoft Access Training - Creating Databases
If you've been tasked with the design and development of a database and are finding it difficult to know where to start you will find our two day Creating Databases courses of interest. This two-day course assumes no prior knowledge of Microsoft Access and provides delegates with a basic understanding of some of the major features and functions within Access including: how to design your database; create tables; Access queries; and use Access forms and reports. On completion of the course, delegates will have the skills which will enable them to go on and produce their own database application.
Microsoft Access Training - Power User
This hands-on course is for the experienced Microsoft Access users who wish to take their development skills to the next level. On completion of the course delegates will master the skills necessary to develop more sophisticated databases which include: advanced search criteria (aggregate and cross-tab queries); forms with sub-forms and charts; levels of security and automation. This course briefly touches on Macros and VBA.
Microsoft Access Training - Visual Basic for Applications
Once you have mastered tables, queries, forms and reports in Microsoft Access, perhaps you should consider our Microsoft Access programming course. This two-day session has been designed to give those experienced Access users a thorough working knowledge of VBA and will enable them to develop and automate Access solutions. Delegates will examine sample code, learn how to create macros from scratch, be encouraged to write programs so that future maintenance can be carried out with the minimum of effort.
Whatever the level of Microsoft Access Training you plan to attend, you can expect to receive professional and formal, yet personalised instruction from our TAP accredited trainers. Our courses incorporate plenty of hands-on exercises and quite often we will suggest working with one of your databases to help the learning experience.
You may wish to choose to attend one of our scheduled public courses. On these courses we cover a predetermined set of topics.
